How does Propellant 49 work on snow?
P-49 is not intended to make a deep snowdrift disappear by itself. PACE states that it is effective on hard-packed snow and can also be distributed on walks and drives before a heavy snowfall to help prevent ice from bonding to the surface.
Pretreatment can also make later mechanical snow removal easier.
Does P-49 continue melting for up to 36 hours?
PACE describes P-49 as having a “Controlled Melting Action” and states that the product can continue working for as long as 36 hours after application.
Can P-49 be applied before snow starts?
Yes. PACE recommends applying P-49 at the first sign of snow or ice and also describes pretreatment before heavier snowfall as a way to help prevent ice formation and speed subsequent snow removal.
How does P-49 compare with other ice melters?

Can Propellant 49 be used on brand-new concrete?
PACE's current guidance recommends against using chemical de-icers on concrete that is less than one year old.
New concrete needs time to reach full structural strength, so newly placed sidewalks and similar surfaces should be allowed to mature before chemical de-icers are introduced.
Does P-49 leave a white residue that tracks indoors?
PACE states that P-49 does not leave the unsightly white residue commonly associated with some ice-melting products, helping minimize white track-in around entrances.

Who pays the freight?
The customer is responsible for freight. PACE arranges the shipment, prepays the carrier and adds the freight charge to the customer's invoice.
